Connect the USB cableSteps 7–9

  1. Step 7: Connect a USB data cable

Connect your Quest’s USB-C port directly to the Mac. A cable that only charges will not work for debugging.

Look forQuest → USB data cable → Mac
  2. Step 8: Allow USB debugging

Put on the headset and accept the USB debugging prompt for this Mac. Keep the headset awake.

    Look forAllow USB debugging
  3. Step 9: Choose your headset in QuestStage

Open Add headset, choose USB cable and follow the instructions. Select the ready device. An unauthorised headset cannot be used until you allow its debugging prompt.

Start castingStep 10

  1. Step 10: Name it and start casting

Give the verified headset a name, then select Start casting. Check the picture before changing any crop settings.

Set up wireless useSteps 11–12

  1. Step 11: Set up Wi-Fi if you want to unplug

Keep USB connected. Connect both devices to the same Wi-Fi. In the headset’s settings in QuestStage, select Set up Wi-Fi. Wait for the success message.

Look forWi-Fi is ready. You can unplug the cable.
  2. Step 12: Unplug and check the wireless view

Remove the USB cable and check that the view reconnects over Wi-Fi. USB-enabled wireless debugging uses port 5555 and may need setting up again after the headset restarts.

    Look forWireless connection
If the connection needs pairing again

On QuestStage’s connection step, select Pair again with a new code. Use USB instead if wireless pairing is unavailable.
